Vision

Our vision is to produce children who are happy, self-confident and achieving their fullest potential.

At Micahelchurch we prepare children so they can confidently take the next step into secondary education with enthusiasm.

The School Aims

  1. We aim to provide a rich and stimulating environment for all pupils within the School in order to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of the National Curriculum and develops confidence in the use of language and number.
  2. We aim to provide an environment which encourages children to develop an enquiring mind, based upon the acquisition of social, physical and intellectual skills to enable individuals to develop to their full potential.
  3. We aim to promote the spiritual, moral and cultural development of our pupils at school and in society, and to prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

The Ethos of the School

Respect should be shown at all times to all staff, children, parents and anyone associated with the school and the activities undertaken therein. We aim to encourage and foster in every child the positive impact of high self-esteem. This includes positive attitudes towards self, belief in one’s own abilities and a constant endeavour to achieve his/her personal best, both intellectually and physically.

We believe also that children should be encouraged to appreciate the differing needs of others and respect the feelings of others. Throughout our work, high regard is given to the pupil’s moral, cultural, social and spiritual development. Our aims are related to your child’s intellectual, physical, aesthetic, spiritual, emotional and personal, social and moral development.

Charter of Values

The School has developed a Charter of Values that can be found on the following page. This demonstrates the aims of the school, pupils, parents, staff and governors of Michaelchurch Escley Primary School

The Charter of Values

The School, through the children, staff, Governors and parents, wishes to actively encourage;

Equal valuing of all persons as persons;
Respect for truth, honesty, genuineness and politeness;
Care, sensitivity and compassion for others;
Individual responsibility for learning and actions;
Commitment to the long-term improvement of human life and the environment.

In order to work towards these commitments we must all try :-

  • to create a fair community where everyone is treated equally and where people with problems or disadvantages are offered the help they need.
  • to look after the things around us, both inside and outside the School.
  • to work and play happily together by co-operating and helping each other.
  • to respect each other for the persons we are, realising that we are all different, and to take care of everyone around us at all times.
  • to be respectful of others and to be polite at all times.
  • to offer all people in the School the same opportunities to take part in all aspects of School life, appropriate to their age and ability.
  • to be honest at all times as we cannot live and work together if we cannot trust each other
  • to develop self-discipline so that we can all work and behave as well as we can without too much guidance.
  • to develop a positive picture of ourselves, to feel that we have a lot to offer and to be confident to try out new things.
  • to see problems not as something to avoid, but something to solve, maybe with the help of others.

Residential trip

This trip is run with one or more of the Pyramid Primaries to allow our children to make friends within their peer group who they shall be joining at High School.

Extra-curricular Clubs

Activities beyond the school day such as after school clubs are open to specific year groups and are run on a voluntary basis by staff and some parents.
